CROSSO panniers can be used for a long time in hard conditions. As a matter of fact they do not need any special cleaning and maintenance. Because incorrect maintenance can cause more damage than lack of care, below we answer the most frequent questions.

Can I clean my panniers?

We bet you can ! Dirt and road dust can be cleaned with a lot of clean, current water and leave it to dry. If dirt is dry and hard to remove, use soft hand brush and clean water. Do not use only brush because you can push dirt deeper. Do not use any detergents unless it is absolutely necessary. Detergents have a negative effect on fabric and make it less waterproof.

What if a pannier is dirty with grease or something similar?

Try to remove a stain with a soft brush, a soap a lot of clean water. If it does not help you can use washing powder or stain remover for colour fabrics ( without chlorine! ). Before any detergent usage we advise to check it on less noticeable part of a pannier.

Can I clean my panniers in a washing machine?

We dissuade you from this idea. Stiff parts and steel ferrules can damage a washing machine. But if you still want to do that and put your panniers into a washing machine, use gentle program without whirl, max temperature 35 C and just a little of washing powder.

How can I protect my beautiful panniers from discolouring?

Despite the fact that we use only the high quality fabrics, under the influence of ultraviolet rays and after few years, colours can become less sharp. This happen with panniers, cars, swimming suits and space shuttles. Using a thing leaves some marks. You are also marked after your expeditions so treat it as equipment solidarity with its owner.

What else should I know about panniers maintenance?

A pannier is not a bicycle, but you should take a look at them from time to time. All noticed damages eg tear, you should repair at your earliest convenience. Cordura can be sewed, Securo 680 can be glued with polyurethane glue for soft PVC. In case of more serious problems- call us or write us a mail- we will help!
